Vancouver Opera is pleased to invite your school to attend a special student performance of The Bremen Town Musicians, an immersive opera by Canadian composer Dean Burry, created especially for elementary-aged audiences.

Based on the Grimm fairytale, The Bremen Town Musicians tells the story of four unlikely companions who set out together in search of a better future. Along the way, they discover the strength of collaboration, the value of each individual voice, and the power of creativity when facing challenges. Told through clear storytelling, engaging music, and playful theatrical moments, this opera offers an accessible and meaningful introduction to live opera for young learners.

The production is designed to meet students where they are: lively, imaginative, and curious. Music and drama work hand in hand to support comprehension, while the intimate setting encourages focus and connection. No prior opera experience is required.
